High School Guidance Counselor
Qualifications:
- Valid school counselor license/certificate
Duties:
- Provides guidance/counseling services. Plans/implements program improvements.
- Communicates program objectives/performance expectations to students/parents.
- Keeps current with state standards/guidelines. Collaborates with staff, students, families and the community to delineate short/long-range guidance program needs/opportunities.
- Allots time for individual/group counseling. Supports the development of curriculum that help students acquire/improve personal skills (e.g., accountability, decision-making, interpersonal communication, problem solving, responsible behavior, self-confidence, etc.).
- Actively collaborates with staff to share effective intervention strategies and resources.
- Helps identify/resolve problems that impede student participation in appropriate learning activities.
- Assists with the multi-factored evaluation (MFE) process. Meets mandated paperwork time lines.
- Helps ensure that assessment instruments/procedures support non-biased planning activities.
- Investigates student concerns (e.g., abuse/neglect, attendance, discrimination, domestic violence, emotional problems, poverty, pregnancy/parenting, self-esteem, substance abuse, etc.).
- Implements protocols to safeguard student information shared with staff and/or referral sources.
- Plans/implements student intervention strategies that produce tangible evidence-based benefits within specified time-frames. Monitors intervention efficacy to improve outcomes.
- Facilitates opportunities for all students to participate in an inclusive educational environment.
- Advocates for students. Observes student demeanor. Investigates/reports atypical behavior.
- Helps students better understand themselves, make appropriate choices and grow academically. Promotes cultural awareness, self-reliance, problem-solving, critical-thinking and creativity skills.
- Facilitates student learning activities that encourage teamwork and positive peer relationships.
- Provide guidance and counseling services, including counseling sessions focused on conflict resolution, to help students acquire and improve interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Maintains career-focused resource materials. Helps students understand the interrelationship of academic courses and career objectives. Promotes a balanced perspective of work and family life.
- Helps staff with pupil management. Prepares conduct reports/discipline recommendations.
- Serves as a resource for drug/harassment/violence prevention and related school safety activities.
- Develops strategies to improve performance and increase graduation rates for at-risk students.
- Initiates student/family referrals to community services (e.g., legal, health, social services, etc.). Serves as a district contact person for public agencies and an intermediary for parents/staff.
- Direct students in the investigation of individualized educational, occupational and personal goals; assist with student transition processes (e.g., graduation, post-secondary program enrollment); and provide employment and post-secondary training information.
Information:
- Salary will be based on experience.
- 184 work days a year, plus extended days

Three (3) Bus Drivers
Objective:
- Operates a school bus or van to provide authorized transportation services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma. Successful completion of state pre-service bus driver training program.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) with school bus and passenger endorsements.
- Ability to cope with stressful traffic, weather conditions and passenger distractions.
- Completion of the state pre-service school bus driver training program and on-going participation in training necessary to maintain required license and endorsements.
- Complies with all pupil transportation operation and safety rules found in Ohio Administrative Code.
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
- Demonstrates dependability/flexibility. Reacts productively to interruptions/changing conditions.
- Demonstrates maturity. Interacts comfortably/confidently with the public.
- Embodies high ethical standards and integrity. Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Meets all prerequisite and ongoing qualifications to be covered by the district’s insurance carrier.
- Physical ability to safely lift and manage preschoolers and students with disabilities.
- Satisfactory pre-employment and ongoing random drug/alcohol test results. Must pass a criminal background investigation prior to employment and be fingerprinted every five (5) years.

Substitute Custodians (Classified)
Objective:
- Performs general custodial duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma. Work skills substantiated by training and/or relevant work experience.
- An acceptable score on a pre-employment skill test may be required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work that includes lifting/moving heavy items.
- Collects, records, and maintains data accurately. Applies basic mathematical concepts correctly.
- Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
- Demonstrates dependability/flexibility. Reacts productively to interruptions/changing conditions.
- Embodies high ethical standards and integrity. Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct.
- Interacts comfortably/confidently with the public.
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Ability to comply with board policy regarding the Integrated Pest Management Program.
- Satisfactory pre-employment and ongoing random drug/alcohol test results. Must pass a criminal
background investigation prior to employment and be fingerprinted every five (5) years.
